Troyes & Sightseeing

Domaine de la Forêt d'Orient / Troyes & Sightseeing

The Domaine sits at the heart of the Forêt d’Orient Regional Nature Park, 20 km from Troyes (20 minutes) and 18 km from the outlet villages. An ideal base from which to explore: lakes and forest on the doorstep, a city of art and history twenty minutes away, and the Champagne vineyards to the south.

Troyes, a city of art and history

Twenty minutes take you from the forest to cobbled streets. The historic centre of Troyes — whose street plan traces the shape of a champagne cork — lines up its half-timbered houses, Renaissance mansions and hidden courtyards.

Worth seeing: the Cathedral of Saint-Pierre-et-Saint-Paul and its stained glass, the Cité du Vitrail, the Museum of Fine Arts, the Natural History Museum and the ruelle des Chats, the most photographed lane in the city.

The outlet villages

Just 18 km from the Domaine, the Troyes designer outlets bring together several hundred brands at reduced prices — one of the largest outlet complexes in Europe. Allow half a day, or a full day.

Our spa guests receive a McArthurGlen VIP Pass as part of the Wellbeing & Shopping Day package.

The lakes and the countryside

The Regional Nature Park is home to three large lakes. The nearest beaches are a few minutes away by car — or on foot from the Domaine along the Sentier des Lacs, 8 km there and back.

Wine tourism — the Champagne Route

You are in the heart of a UNESCO World Heritage landscape. South of Troyes, the Côte des Bar unfurls its rolling vineyards and 28 accredited champagne houses, around Bar-sur-Seine and Bar-sur-Aube.

Not to be missed: Les Riceys, the largest champagne terroir and the only commune in France to hold three appellations d’origine contrôlée, and Essoyes, the village where Renoir lived and painted.

Our team will gladly arrange your cellar visit and tasting with a grower — just ask at reception.
